This was a very challenging project. I wanted to preserve as much of the original purse as I could. All of the leather is original except for the handles and the shoulder strap attachment points. The handles and the strap attachment points are hand sewn. It took some effort to ensure I did not make have to add much new leather to it. I was able to cut out all the holes in the leather and to cover the center bottom hole I added a patch with my maker’s mark to cover it. The inside has all new liner. I reutilized the zippers and even the inside zipper pocket trying to keep it as close to the original look as possible.
I sincerely hope that the owner of this purse is happy with the results. This purse is now good to last many more years to come.
